| Dragon Warrior is one of the greatest game for the NES. It is one of the greatest RPGs of its time. The story of the game gets lost in the game, but it is recovered after a few levels gained. The story is a classic save the princess, save the land. Saving the princess is simple, but saving the land is quite the challange. The most fun part of this game is fighting, because 99% of this game is battling to get your levels up. This game is a big acomplishment when you finish it. It may take a long time, around 30 hours (maybe more, theres no timer). The battles may seem cheesy but.. well, they kind of are. There isnt anything too complex about this game. The battle system is a simple turn based battle. Its very plain, just windows that pop up showing your attack and the enemy. The enemy is the only thing you see during battle, only one foe can attack at once (like I said, very simple). The experence from the battles arent very pleasing. The first monsters you will encounter will only give you 1 experince point. I dont think anything goes above 30 experince (unless you fight a boss or something rare). Gold is also hard to attain, gold is usualy no more than ten more than the experence. Overall, this is a very exelent game for the hardcore RPG fan. I would have to say that I would play this over Final Fantasy any day. Once you know the story, you feel like you are realy a Dragon Warrior, like me. |
